Synopsis:
The film tells the story of a young man named Reda, who lives with his mother, constantly pressuring him to endure the bitterness of life and the hardship of work. Reda works as a farmer on land owned by another man. From here, Reda begins to think of a way to ease this daily burden, and the dream of buying a donkey is born—an animal that could help him reach the land and carry the weight of his labor. The story unfolds around his repeated attempts to find a way to afford the donkey, whether through extra work, borrowing money, or even selling some of his few belongings. As the events progress, the donkey becomes more than just a means of transport; it transforms into a symbol of hope, of Reda’s longing to possess something of his own that could ease the harshness of life. Between his mother’s pressure and his own dreams, the struggles of the poor against the difficulties of living are revealed, and the donkey becomes the embodiment of a small dream with a much greater meaning.
