10 Years of RED STAR .. Special screening program at Zawya Cinema

Red Star celebrates 10 years since the beginning of its cinematic journey and, in collaboration with Zawya Cinema, is organizing a special screening program from February 25 to March 3. The program features a selection of the company’s most prominent feature-length and short films, alongside some of its latest productions.
The program opens on February 25 with a screening of Nawara, directed by Hala Khalil. The screening will be attended by the film’s writer and director, Hala Khalil, with the post-screening discussion moderated by actress Salwa Mohamed Ali, in addition to the presence of several members of the cast and crew.
On February 26, a selection of short films will be screened, including:
Dry Hot Summer, directed by Sherif El Bendary (Red Star’s first short film production),
Off Air by Omar Hossam Ali,
Habeeb by Shady Fouad,
and Extra Safe by Nouran Sherif.
Film critic Andrew Mohsen will moderate a discussion with the filmmakers following the screenings.
On February 27, Photocopy, directed by Tamer Ashry and written by Haitham Dabbour, will be screened, followed by a discussion moderated by director Heba Yousry.
On February 28, another group of short films will be presented:
A Passing Day by Rasha Shahin,
Thouraya… The Girl Who Loved Eternity by Ahmed Badr Karam,
Abu Gudy by Ahmed Adel Yehia,
and No Parking or Waiting by Amr Gouda.
The discussion with the filmmakers will be moderated by director Marouan Omara.
Meanwhile, The Originals, directed by Marwan Hamed, will be screened on March 1.
The short films will be re-screened on March 2 and 3. All screenings begin at 8:00 PM.
Founded ten years ago by producer Baho Bakhsh and producer Safei El Din Mahmoud, Red Star has produced more than 40 films — both feature-length and short — since its establishment.
