
“Daye” Shines in Baghdad and Wins Three Grand Awards

“The Tale of Daye’s Family” has continued its successful journey in international festivals, after winning three awards at the closing ceremony of the second Baghdad International Film Festival. It received the Best Feature Film Award and its director, Karim El-Shenawy, received the Best Director Award. Additionally, Islam Moubarak won the Best Actress Award for her unique performance.
These awards are part of the official feature film competition, which included 15 Arab and Iraqi films. “Daye” was the only Egyptian film representing Egyptian cinema at this edition, doubling its significance and highlighting the uniqueness of the experience.
Islam Moubarak Wins Best Actress Award for “Daye” at Port Said Film Festival
The film, written by Haitham Dabbour and directed by Karim El-Shenawy, tells a humanitarian story with social depth. Furthermore, the film stars Aseel Omran, Islam Moubarak, Haneen Said, and Badr Mohamed. It represents a different vision of the Daye’s people, as well as their challenges and dreams.
The success of “Daye” at the Baghdad Film Festival enhances its position as one of the most prominent modern Egyptian cinematic productions and highlights the presence of the filmmakers in the Arab world.
